Abstract
Twelve alkaloids have been isolated from bulbs of Brunsvigia orientalis. 1-Epibowdensine, 1-epidemethoxybowdensine and 1-epidecacetylbowdensine are reported here for the first time. The structure and stereochemistry of these new alkaloids have been determined by physical and spectroscopic methods. The 1H and 13C NMR spectra of 6-hydroxycrinamine (both epimers) and crinamidine were completely assigned by means of 2D NMR techniques.
